Maintaining a safe and productive workplace relies on a number of variables, one of which is the employee’s access to medical care.  When medical care is not accessible for incidents such as minor injuries and injury management, resulting outcomes are downtime, absenteeism, and lost productivity. For situations where your location, the nature of your business, your physical space or preference requires onsite support, Wellpoint has the resources that meet your requirements.

From expert pre-employment medicals, stay-at-work and return-to-work programs, Wellpoint has the experience and renowned expertise to enhance your current occupational health and safety programs.

ONSITE NURSING AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH PHYSICIANS

Wellpoint’s nurses have advanced certification in Occupational Health including pre-placement medical assessments, disease and wellness counselling, emergency care and follow-up, absence management through early intervention, and the management of modified work programs.
Our On-site nurses can help achieve early and safe return to work for your employees, providing optimal support to your team, devoted to disability management. Our nurses help prevent reportable work related accidents and illnesses which can have a substantial impact on your Workers’ Compensation rates.

PHYSICIANS

Wellpoint also provides Occupational Health physicians to provide on-site services to your organization. Our physicians are certified by the Canadian Board of Occupational Medicine, the Canadian College of Family Physicians or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Wellpoint’s physicians provide important input on occupational health practices, medical opinions and return to work consultation. They are active in challenging medical diagnoses not based on acceptable disease recovery times. The resulting savings, both in terms of time and money, can be considerable.

INJURY PREVENTION TREATMENT AND MANAGEMENT

Wellpoint’s Occupational Injury Service (OIS) programs are developed to provide timely and appropriate medical care and disability management services specifically designed for occupational injuries – with a special emphasis on immediate (same day) communication with the employer to facilitate safe return to work.
Wellpoint’s OIS approach leads to both reductions in wait times and compensation costs while increasing satisfaction for injured workers, unions, employers and Workers Compensation Board Case Managers.
